Opus XVI Timber

Opus XVI Timber by Amouage is one of the most acclaimed modern woody releases from the house. Launched in 2025 as part of the legendary Library Collection, it was created by perfumer Alexis Grugeon. Inspired by giant sequoias of California and frankincense trees of Oman, Timber explores strength, wisdom, and nature through an elegant woody composition.

How It Smells

It opens with cypress, juniper, cardamom, pink pepper, and cocoa—fresh, spicy, aromatic, and subtly textured. The heart introduces lavandin, fir balsam, and Hojari frankincense, giving a green resinous brightness with sacred smoky depth. In the drydown, palo santo, sandalwood, cedarwood, patchouli, and vanilla create a creamy woody base that feels polished and luxurious. The overall effect is woody, aromatic, resinous, smooth, and quietly powerful.
